UCSB Claims Monolithic Router World's First E-mail
The 8-channel InP monolithic tunable optical router, or MOTOR chip

Years worth of work on the LASOR project has culminated in the fabrication of the MOTOR chip, an 8-channel Optical Router fabricated on our Indium Phosphide platform.  This photonic integrated circuit (PIC) pushes the state-of-the-art in terms of photonic component density on a single chip!
